The Sanctuary at Horse Hammock is home to over 40 horses that have found safety and refuge at our Sanctuary. Most have come from unimaginable situations including starvation, kill pens, illegal slaughter houses, neglect and abuse.

Some of our other horses have special needs or debilitating injuries and others have been surrendered from owners who were no longer able to provide for them.

Their stories are all different, but one thing remains the same. We are committed to provide them with a safe and loving home for the remainder of their lives. We have vowed that with time and trust we will remove the fear we have seen in far too many of their eyes.

In addition to caring for the horses entrusted to us, we proudly join with other equine rescues to be a voice and an advocate for responsible horse ownership. Together, we can help reduce the number of at-risk horses. You can help. You can make a difference in the life of a horse.
